INDEPENDENT
CLUB BACKSTAGE is
an underground club that promotes alternative, independent and
underground music
in the city of Maastricht in the south of Holland.
Backstage tries to accommodate to a young, progressive and creative
audience between the ages of 16 to 56 or anyone who can
identify with this group.
We put great effort into organizing as many live- events,
theme-nights and dance-parties as possible, while also offering
young creative people a chance to organize concerts,
dance-parties, performances, art-shows, fashion-shows
and many other
events at Backstage.
We Host a variety of events and music styles
varying from, techno, jungle, drum & bass, electro,
alternative rock & pop, wave & gothic, hip-hop
and r&b, reggae & ragga and several new and
experimental styles of music.

HAVE A DREAM Backstage is
a place where every person should be able
to be Him or Her self. We like to think it's a place
where people are not being judged by the color of their
skin, nationality, religious beliefs, sex, sexual
preference, or by the way they look or dress.
But , in the famous words of Dr. King, "by the contend of their
character"
In a world that
seems to be so full of intolerance and
disrespect, we try very hard to give people a place
where they can enjoy a good night out in an atmosphere
where they are respected for who they are and show their
respect for others around
them.

The Backstage crew
members are all music lovers.
Not limited by any styles or genres, they only distinguising between good
and bad music.
Since many
other bars in town have desided to play the bad kind of music,
Backstage has the choice out of a wide range of good music to get you
dancing. And We've
decided to play them all.
Backstage often works with theme night and depending
on the night you choose to visit us, you can
hear music styles ranging from Rock tot Reggae, Techno to Drum & Bass,
New Wave to Electro or even Rock & Roll and Gothic and
many, many more styles and sub-genres. There even
are nights where there's a chance to hear all these styles of music during
the same night.
SMOKING
HOT
BACKSTAGE
is located in the basement of an old factory building build in 1921,
which use to be a tabacco and sigarrete factory just outside
the city center of Maastricht. This is rather ironic considering it's no longer allowed to
smoke inside this building, accept for the special smoking area that
Backstage created for her costumers.
The building
today also houses supermarket "Jan Linders", a secondhand
furniture store, and several other shops.
At about an 8 minute walk from the main city square "Vrijthof", just up the street
from the University of Maastricht's Economics Faculty and only a
few 100 meters from the international Guesthouse and Courthouse. itīs
easy to find and close enough to walk or bike to from almost anywhere in
the city.
